It’s been a purple, green, and gold week here in New Orleans. Even though the Mardi Gras season came exuberantly to a close three whole days ago, it’s taken me until now to finally find time to sit at my desk and write an update.
And woo-wee are there updates! Next week is chock full of opportunities for us to connect. Check them out and hope to see you at one!
Tuesday: Sex-Positive Book Club Meeting

The Sex-Positive Book Club meets every other Tuesday via Zoom to discuss books that celebrate sex, sexuality, and research in the field. It’s a great place to make sex-nerdy friends and have low-pressure conversations about sexuality.
Currently we’re reading Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski, Ph.D. While we’ve made our way past the halfway point of the book, everyone is welcome to join the meeting regardless of whether they’ve finished the reading or not.
Join the Facebook group to access event invites and stay up to date with which books we’re reading. Be sure to answer the group questions or your request to join will be denied.
Wednesday: Embracing Sexuality Livestream

Wednesday evening I’ll be doing a quick free live stream on how to embrace your sexuality. The #1 issue behind most problems I encounter as a sex coach boils down to holding limiting ideas around sex—it’s time to fix that.
Whether it be shame about our desires or performance, worries about whether our bodies are sexy enough, or fear of being sexually rejected, these negative emotions put up walls between us and our undeniably sexy selves.
You. Are. Sexy. You are a sexual being who deserves a fulfilling sex life. Join this free live chat for an introduction to what it will take to break down your limiting walls and gain sexual confidence.
Missed it? The recording will be available on my YouTube channel after the live stream.
Thursday: Gender & Language for Allies

The Sexology Institute is hosting a webinar on trans-inclusive language for allies—led by yours truly!
This webinar is an updated version of the presentation I gave at the end of my certification program. It covers:
- the meanings of common sex and gender terms in use today
- what to do if you make a mistake about someone’s gender or pronouns
- simple ways to be more inclusive with day-to-day language
Tickets are just $15 and are available at Eventbrite. The webinar recording will be available for viewing by registered attendees for one week after Thursday.
What’s Next?
Whew! That’s a lot, isn’t it? I hope to see you at one or more of those events next week.
After that, I’ll get back to working on the project I hope to launch this summer. Want a taste? Snag yourself a free copy of Talking About Sex: A Sex-Positive Communication Workbook for Relationships and Life:
